Let our editors tell you what to do

This one’s for the babies: Peapods’ summer sidewalk sale roles out this Friday with discounted natural toys, clothes, and anything else a baby may need/put in his or her mouth without warning. If there is such a thing as baby shower season, we’re guessing it’s coming up. Stock up now. June 8-9.

We imagine you’ve had your fill of funnel cakes and fair food from this past weekend celebrating both the Edina Art Fair and Grand Old Day, so cleanse your culinary palate with a stop at the newly opened Linden Hills Farmers Market. A project by Tilia’s Steven Brown, we recommend you snag an early time to sample the goods. June 10.

At long last, the slow months of winter have ebbed and the Northern lands are rewarded with a dusk to dawn art festival. Northern Spark will be taking place across Minneapolis (typically it takes over both cities but it scaled back a bit this year) and you can use a handy app to navigate your way through the festivities. June 9-10.

Few movies are ever as good as the book, but seeing Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel Persepolis set in motion on the big screen only enhanced the story. About one teenage girl’s attempts to survive the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Persepolis is an incredible story and a work of art in its own right. Props to the Trylon for screening this gem. June 8.
